Practical information

Punta Arenas is a small city located at the southernmost tip of the world (53 degrees south), namely, the very end of the South-American Continent (Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego). This friendly town will welcome you at any time of the year but November is definitely the ideal time to visit. Days are long, the sun sets after 10pm, the tourist season is just starting and the weather – statistically – is at its best. Penguin colonies, among other exotic “inhabitants” of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego region, can be enjoyed after one hour drive from Punta Arenas, and two days trips can be easily arranged to see one of the world finest landscape scenarios called “Torres del Paine” national park, wherein you will find a unique mix of high Andes’ peaks, glaciers, lakes, rivers and varied typical flora and fauna.
